The 2027 Poster Contest Finalists
Out of a wonderful pool of entries, our Poster Committee selected three designs to become finalists for the official 2027 Hudson Valley Garlic Festival poster. Each artist poured their own story into their work — take a look below, and read what inspired them.
Louidjey Destin
I chose a wooden sign at the top to give it a rustic, farm-like feeling that matches the festival’s outdoor atmosphere. The basket full of garlic is the main focus because garlic is the highlight of the event. The bright green hills, flowers, and blue sky represent the natural beauty of the Hudson Valley and create a fresh, cheerful mood. I also used warm colors and simple illustrations to make the poster easy to read and visually appealing for people of all ages.
Elizabeth Passeri
I’m inspired by the ingredient of garlic and how it elevates every dish. So I imagined garlic as a vehicle to elevate people to the garlic festival! My tagline for my design is “where flavor takes flight”. I hope you accept my submission. Thank you for your consideration!

For me, the Garlic Festival has always symbolized the light and whimsy that makes life sweet. It's a place where you can carry a garlic-shaped basket, eat garlic ice cream, and lose yourself in a sea of handmade garlic-themed treasures. In a time filled with heavy news, we could all use a reminder to find joy in the unexpected. This digital painting captures my own vision of that pure, lighthearted magic: a bouquet of beautiful scented memories, wrapped in the positivity we all need.
